Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, whether a review has been carried out to simplify into one document the policies, procedures and regulations in the Army for the provision of support for personnel under investigation by the armed forces.

The support and welfare of Army personnel is a priority at all times. The document: "Support To Serving Personnel and Veterans who are suspects in Service Justice System (SJS) Investigations" was distributed to the Army chain of command in August 2017 and sets out high level guidance and the framework of supporting guidance. This includes information on the background to the type of investigations undertaken, the welfare, legal and media advice available and the responsibility of the Commanding Officers throughout the processes.
