Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what discussions his Department has had with relevant stakeholders in response to the findings by the UKHSA that Meningitis B cases have increased higher than the level prior to the outbreak of covid-19; and what assessment he has made of the potential merits of centralising vaccine data and the recording of information on offering vaccinations to those who are unvaccinated.
The Department, the UK Health Security Agency and NHS England and NHS Improvement are jointly monitoring the MenB vaccination programme and we continue to engage with stakeholders on rising case numbers of meningitis B. We are considering how lessons from the COVID-19 vaccination programme can be applied to the wider immunisation programme.
