Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, whether his Departmental guidance allows exercise, training or selection events to take place in high temperatures where a wetbulb globe temperature reading is not available; and if he will make a statement.

Departmental guidance does not preclude events taking place in high temperatures where a Wet Bulb Globe Temperature index reading is not available. However, the Commander must assess the risks (in accordance with the guidance), reduce them to as low as reasonably practicable and then decide if the risk is acceptable.
