Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, whether his Department received representations from Action on Smoking and Health on the banning of the use of tobacco on the prison estate; and if he will place a copy of any such representations in the Library.

There have been no representations received from Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) on the banning of the use of tobacco on the prison estate.

The Director of ASH, Deborah Arnott is a member of the national smoke free prisons project board and is informed of the progress of the roll out.
