Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, what discussions he has has with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea about meeting the cost of survivors of the Grenfell Tower fire not having to pay rent until June 2019.

My Department is supporting the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) to rehouse the survivors of the fire at Grenfell Tower. We will continue to support RBKC, including its initiative to provide a rent-free period for Grenfell Tower and Grenfell Walk survivors.

My officials continue to meet regularly with the RBKC about rehousing, including the rent-free period for Grenfell Tower and Grenfell Walk survivors.
