Prisoners: Self-harm

Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what the average number of self-harm incidents by prisoners has been per prison in England and Wales since March 2017.

Details of self-harm incidents and assaults occurring in prisons, including a breakdown of incident numbers by establishment, are released by MoJ annually in the Safety in Custody National Statistics bulletin. Data for March 2017 onwards will be published in the next release, in April 2018.
