The Government of Burma has not informed the UK Government that aid agencies using the word Rohingya will face access restrictions. The UK remains deeply concerned by all operating restrictions facing aid agencies and continues to press for unfettered access to all communities in Rakhine State. We have provided £1 million to the Red Cross Movement and £2 million to the World Food Programme to provide assistance in northern Rakhine State. The UK recognises the rights of all communities to self-identify. We continue to urge the Burmese authorities to ensure basic rights for all people of Burma.
