To ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, with reference to her Department's proposals for a new registration scheme for short term holiday lets, what assessment she has made of the extent to which this scheme would add to the information on the location of short term holiday lets already accessible to the public through commercial websites.

A registration scheme could provide a much needed, authoritative source of data on the location of short-term holiday lets in England. The exact details on how the registration scheme will operate, including what information would be collected, will be explored through a public consultation, to be published by summer recess.
