Question to the HM Treasury:
To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, with reference to his Department’s press release of 10 April 2016, entitled UK launches cross-government taskforce on the Panama Papers, whether HM Revenue and Customs has taken receipt of the Panama Papers.
HMRC has analysed all of the material that has been made publicly available, and continues to work with partners in the UK, and overseas, on tackling offshore evasion activity.
The work of the Panama Papers Taskforce has led to civil and criminal investigations into 66 individuals for suspected tax evasion, including high net worth individuals. As part of this HMRC has made four arrests; and carried out six interviews under caution.
