Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, if he will make an assessment of the potential vulnerability of (a) Taiwan and (b) the first and second island chain following the deployment of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit from Okinawa to the Arabian Gulf.

The MOD does not comment on assessments conducted on the military capabilities of other states for reasons of operational security.
