Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what criteria are used to prioritise imprisonment for public protection cases; and if he will make a statement.

Listing of cases for hearings is a matter for the independent Parole Board. The Board is committed to ensuring that all of those entitled to parole hearings are dealt with in a timely fashion and has been focused on reducing excessive delays for all those entitled to parole hearings including indeterminate sentenced prisoners.
