Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what recent assessment the Government has made of the effectiveness of its sex offender treatment programmes; and if he will make a statement.
We are absolutely committed to reducing reoffending and addressing the needs of those individuals convicted of a sexual offence. We keep treatment programmes under constant review to reduce reoffending and protect the public. The new programmes for sex offenders which we have introduced over the past two years, Horizon and Kaizen, draw on the latest international evidence on effective treatment for this cohort of offenders.
