Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what plans he has to re-examine the criteria for medallic recognition for Operation Shader.

As with all UK military operations, Operation Shader is kept under constant review. In line with previous Operational Service Medals, the Iraq and Syria Operational Service Medal is awarded for those who are considered to have faced danger and hardship. If it were judged appropriate, the eligibility criteria for the current medal could be amended.
