Question to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, with reference to paragraph 4.5 of Brexit – the impact on British Orchestras, published by the Association of British Orchestras in December 2017, what discussions he has had with the EU Commission on maintaining access to the A1 system after the UK leaves the European Union; and if he will make a statement.
The Government recognises that the A1 form is an important tool for ensuring that artists and musicians do not have social security payments deducted when working in other EU countries. As part of the exit negotiations the Government will discuss with the EU and Member States ways to ensure that touring performers will not have unnecessary tax burdens when touring Europe.
