Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, pursuant to the Answer of 22 January 2018 to Question 122438 on Food: Waste, whether he has plans to apply a similar target for the incineration of food waste.

There are no plans to set a target for incineration of food waste. Through the 25 Year Environment Plan we will work towards no food waste entering landfill by 2030, redistribution of surplus food and promoting separate collection of inedible food waste for recycling.
