Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, if he will make it the policy of the Government that people who have recovered from covid-19 after testing positive should not be given priority for the covid-19 vaccination; and if he will make a statement.
The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation are the independent experts who advise the Government on which vaccine/s the United Kingdom should use and provide advice on prioritisation at a population level. Clinical decisions will be made for those who have suffered from a COVID-19 infection and it is likely that vaccination should be deferred until clinical recovery and at least four weeks after onset of symptoms.
