Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, whether prison governors will be empowered to bring maintenance contracts back in-house.

We have announced the creation of a new government-owned facilities management company that will take over the delivery of the prison Facilities Management services previously provided by Carillion. HM Prison and Probation Service will continue to work with prison Facilities Management providers, including the new company, as well as with prison governors, to secure significant improvements to these services.
