Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, whether the Ministry of Defence Police has achieved the reinstatement of its Firearms Training Licence; and if he will make a statement.
This question was answered on 5th February 2018
The suspension of the Ministry of Defence (MOD) Police Firearms Training Licence remains ongoing, but the College of Policing is currently scheduled to conduct its re-inspection assessment of the Force in April 2018. The suspension does not impact on security arrangements, or the ability of MOD Police officers to carry firearms while on duty.
The College of Policing has commended the 'significant further progress' made by the MOD police.
