Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:
To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, whether his Department has taken recent steps to make it easier for tenants’ associations to gain formal recognition; and if he will make a statement.
Between 25 July and 19 September 2017, the Government ran a consultation on proposals to make it easier for a secretary of a tenants' association to obtain contact information of qualifying tenants (leaseholders) from a landlord and so improve the prospects of the association being formally recognised. The results of the consultation are being analysed and an announcement will be made shortly.
