Prisons: Repairs and Maintenance

Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, pursuant to the Answer of 2 February 2018 to Question 125576 on Prisons: Repairs and Maintenance, what the average defined cost was for (a) replacing a broken window, (b) replacing a lock, (c) cleaning up a spillage, (d) fixing a toilet seat and (e) screening a shower in 2017.

The Department doesn’t keep a record of the average cost for these work items due to the disparate nature of the work required for each type of repair. As stated in the answer to Question 125576, the Department closely reviews defined costs to ensure that they are at open market value and offer the Department value for money.
