Collaboration between the Department of Health and Social Care and the Home Office was a key part of developing the Care Act 2014.

The Care Act 2014 highlights the need for partnership and cooperation in the prevention of abuse or neglect. Workers across a wide range of organisations need to be vigilant about adult safeguarding and share information or concerns, whether they be in health and social care, welfare, policing, banking, fire and rescue services and trading standards, leisure services, faith groups, or housing.
