In January 2012, the then Secretary of State for Defence transferred HMS VICTORY 1744 and all that is connected with the ship, situated in the immediate vicinity of where she is lying, to the Maritime Heritage Foundation upon trust. This would include the brass cannon dispersed around the wreck site.
