In its answer to Question 117392, the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority sought to identify roles that were broadly comparable with those found in MPs’ offices, whilst noting that due to the nature of the work that IPSA carries out, there are no roles that are directly comparable. Through a comparison of duties and responsibilities, the nearest comparable roles amongst IPSA's people were deemed to be MP Services Managers and Account Managers, Payroll Support Officers and Managers, Communications Officers, and the Chief of Staff. The median annual salary would not be lowered by including all IPSA roles in the comparison.
