Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, with reference to Oxfam's report entitled Survival of the Richest, published on 16 January 2023, whether he has made an assessment of the implications for his policies of the finding that over the last two years the richest 1 per cent of individuals obtained nearly twice as much wealth as the rest of the world put together.

This Government is committed to creating an environment in which high economic growth benefits all.

The UK system is designed to ensure, among other things, that the richest in our society pay their fair share on their wealth and assets.
