We welcome the contribution made by overseas doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals to the NHS and to this country. According to data from NHS Digital, the number of non-UK doctors has increased by 1,700 from June 2016 to September 2017. They now make up almost 25% of all doctors in the NHS. We will continue to monitor the operation of the Tier 2 visa route to ensure it attracts the best and brightest migrants.
