Our Clean Air Strategy will set out measures and actions to achieve ambitious targets to reduce emissions of damaging pollutants to air, including emissions of ammonia (NH3) and nitrogen oxides (NOX), which contribute to nitrogen deposition.

Action is already being taken at a local and regional level to raise awareness of nitrogen deposition effects on natural habitats to identify appropriate emission reduction and mitigation measures. For example, Natural England is piloting a Shared Nitrogen Action Plan project in several areas across England.
