Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, how many midwives were in formal training in England in each of the last three financial years.
The following table shows the total number of midwives who were in training in England as at 31 March 2015, 2016 and 2017.

There are over 2,400 more full time equivalent midwives working in the National Health Service compared to 2010, an increase of 12.4%.
