Sudan: Detainees

Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what assessment he has made of the level of access to legal advice for detainees in Sudan following the protests that began on 7 January 2018.

We understand that many of those detained following recent protests have had some access to legal advice. We continue to make clear to the Government of Sudan our expectation that all detainees will be treated in accordance with international standards, which includes full access to legal advice.
