Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:
To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, how many single farm payment scheme applications are still outstanding for (a) 2015, (b) 2016, and (c) 2017 for each county in the South West.
As of 23 February 2018, the following number of Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) claims were still to be fully processed for the South West:
| BPS 2015 | BPS 2016 | BPS 2017 |
Claim Population | 22,438 | 22,148 | 21,890 |
Outstanding Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly | NA | 2 | 144 |
Outstanding Devon | NA | 4 | 272 |
Outstanding Dorset and Somerset | 1 | 5 | 178 |
Outstanding Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Bath and Bristol area | NA | 2 | 210 |
Total Outstanding | 1 | 13 | 804 |
Claims outstanding for BPS 2015 and 2016 cannot currently be completed for legal reasons, such as probate. The BPS 2017 payment window runs between December 2017 and June 2018. The Rural Payments Agency will continue to make BPS 2017 payments when they complete processing on claims. As in every year, some claims require more complex processing so take longer to complete.
