Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, for what reason his Department considers that 30 per cent of the Defence Estate is not in an acceptable condition.

That is not a view the Department holds.
Our latest estate condition metrics record that 7% of our UK Built assets are in a 'poor' condition or below. The Strategy for Defence Infrastructure, published in January 2022, provides a clear vision to modernise and optimise the estate to enable MOD to best deliver Defence capability requirements and operational outputs arising from Integrated Review 2020.
