Yesterday, the Lord Chancellor launched the engagement phase of the Post-Implementation Review on the effects of the major changes to legal aid made by and under Part 1 of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012. We will be writing to some key stakeholders to take part in consultative groups.

Alongside consultative group meetings we will also set up a route by which other interested parties can submit relevant analytical evidence.

The Government plans to use this opportunity of engagement with stakeholders to inform its wider consideration on the future of legal support in the justice system.
