Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what the governance arrangements are for United States Visiting Force bases in the UK.
This question was answered on 7th March 2018
Bases in the UK are made available to the United States Visiting Forces under the terms of the NATO Status of Forces Agreement of 1951. The Ministry of Defence retains ownership of all bases but the US Visiting Forces are responsible for administering their own day-to-day activities.
