Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:
To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, what his Department's policy is on permitting on-shore wind installations to form part of or entire bids for Contracts for Difference in order to supply electricity to the National Grid at a set price for a number of years in (a) Scotland, (b) England and (c) Wales during this Parliament; and if he will make a statement.
No decisions have yet been taken on permitting on-shore wind installations to form part of or entire bids for Contracts for Difference.
As our manifesto commitment states, we support the development of wind projects in the remote islands of Scotland, where they will directly benefit local communities. We will announce our plans regarding this commitment in due course.
