Timeliness data relating to offences is measured at the point of the offence occurring. For that reason, it can include ‘historical’ offences that are not reported to the police for several months or even years and can skew in particular mean averages. The average number of days taken from offence to completion for fraud offences in England and Wales, by court type, in each 12-month period end on 30 September 2017-2022 has been provided alongside charge to completion estimates to account for potential ‘historical’ offences.
