Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, how many places for prisoners will be created by refurbishment of HMPs (a) Norwich, (b) Birmingham and (c) Liverpool; and if he will publish a timetable for completion of those works.

We are investing £3.8bn over the next three years to deliver 20,000 additional prison place by the mid 2020s. We are on track to deliver these places which include the refurbishments HMP Liverpool and HMP Birmingham and the new houseblock at HMP Norwich.
