Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what assessment he has made of the recommendations directed towards the Care Quality Commission arising from the Cabinet Office's Regulatory Futures Review, published in January 2017.

The Cabinet Office’s Regulatory Futures Review made recommendations to regulatory bodies, of which the Care Quality Commission (CQC) is one.

The CQC is in the process of implementing a more targeted, proportionate, responsive and collaborative approach to regulation that aligns with the principles of regulated self-assurance.

The Department is still working through its response to the Regulatory Futures Review.
