Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to the Answer of 12 March 2018 to Question 131348, what assessment his Department has made of the reasons why the number of Other Ranks discharged on medical grounds from the Army is disproportionally higher than the number of Officers so discharged.

There has been no specific assessment made of the disproportionality between soldier and officer medical discharges in the Army. The difference will be due to a number of factors, including the physicality of roles.
