The UK Government, including the Prime Minister, Foreign Secretary, and his Ministerial team, makes regular representations to the Egyptian Government about Alaa Abd El-Fattah's imprisonment, welfare and lack of consular access. We will continue to do so until his case is resolved. The Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa, Lord (Tariq) Ahmad of Wimbledon, most recently raised Mr El-Fattah's case with the Egyptian Ambassador on 5 December.
