Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what steps his Department is taking to measure the effect of the removal of the NHS bursary on application rates to undergraduate nursing courses.

The Department is working with relevant bodies across health and education to monitor the effects of the healthcare funding reforms and, as part of this, plans to publish an update later this year. This will include information on the approach for assessing the impact.
