Independent Monitoring Boards

Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, whether his Department records the (a) number of members, (b) number of vacancies or (c) quorum of each Independent Monitoring Board.
This question was answered on 2nd May 2018
As of 25 April 2018, there were 1,394 IMB members in post and 691 vacancies. The quorum for each Board meeting should be no fewer than three, as set out in Prison Rule 1999 76(2), Young Offender Institution Rule 2000 80(2) and Detention Centre Rule 2001 60(2).
