Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether his Department plans to develop a standardised universal test list for non-genomic molecular diagnostic tests.

In October 2022, NHS England published the first NHS Genomics Strategy which can be found at the following link: https://www.england.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/B1627-Accelerating-Genomic-Medicine-October-2022.pdf

It includes a commitment that the National Health Service will continue to review the evidence to inform and update the National Genomic Test Directory to reflect the latest scientific and technological developments, which may include non-genomic tests that are part of the genomic functional pathway.
