Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, how many and what proportion of his Department's staff have had days off sick because of mental illness or stress in each of the last three years; and how many days off that amounted to in each of those years.

Departmental information systems do not record sickness absence relating to stress as a distinct category. Within the broader category that includes all mental health issues, the following table shows how many and the proportion of staff who have had days off sick and the total working days lost within that category in each of the last three years.
