Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether his Department has made an assessment of the impacts of endometriosis and PCOS on mental health; and if he will make a statement.

We invited women to share experiences of gynaecological conditions, such as endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), through the Women’s Health Strategy call for evidence. The results of the call for evidence survey were published on 23 December 2021, which is available at the following link:

Menstrual health and gynaecological conditions, including endometriosis and PCOS, will be a priority within the forthcoming Women’s Health Strategy. We aim to publish the Strategy in spring 2022. We also plan to launch a public discussion paper later this year to inform the development of a new cross-Government mental health plan.
