The “Criminal justice statistics outcomes by offence tool” provides data on the number of defendants prosecuted and convicted in England and Wales in 2016. This is set out within the Criminal Justice System statistics publication available at: https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/criminal-justice-system-statistics-quarterly-december-2016. In the case of offences of rape, data are broken down by the gender of the victim.

The conviction ratio is the number of convictions divided by the number of prosecutions.
