I am clear that the Government remains committed to supporting mediation for separating couples. It is an effective way of resolving disputes about finances and children, when it is safe and appropriate to do so. Mediation can be less stressful than going to court. It can help reduce conflict, by avoiding potentially contentious court proceedings which can be harmful to children. We are working to improve information and signposting to raise awareness of mediation and to encourage more separating couples to try it.

I hold regular meetings with senior judges-, that are held in confidence and it would therefore not be appropriate to disclose their content.
