Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:
To ask the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, whether his Department has a process in place to assess and review the information shared between local authorities on Assets of Community Value policy.
Councils are responsible for the oversight and administration of their own local Assets of Community Value scheme. They must publish a list of their decisions and are accountable to local people for the decisions they take. The Government does not hold a central list of this information; we do not require local authorities in England to submit updates to the department on the number of Assets of Community Value which they have listed or rejected.
