Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:
To ask the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, how many local authorities in England have (a) nil, (b) 1-10, (c) 11-20, (d) 21-30 or (e) 31 or more Assets of Community Value on their statutory register.
Councils are responsible for the oversight and administration of their own local Assets of Community Value scheme. They must publish a list of their decisions and are accountable to local people for the decisions they take. The Government does not hold a central list of this information; we do not require local authorities in England to submit updates to the department on the number of Assets of Community Value which they have listed or rejected.
