There is no plan to publish a Long Term Conditions Strategy. As announced on 24 January, the Department will develop and publish a Major Conditions Strategy. The Strategy will tackle conditions that contribute most to morbidity and mortality across the population in England: cancers; cardiovascular disease, including stroke and diabetes; chronic respiratory diseases; dementia; mental ill health; and musculoskeletal conditions.

The approach of the strategy will harness the potential of whole person care, reflecting that the National Health Service is caring for patients with increasingly complex needs and with multiple long-term conditions. An interim report will be published in the summer.
