Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to page 10 paragraph 1.10 of the National Cyber Security Strategy 2016-2021, what assessment he has made of the Armed Forces' ability to assist in the event of a significant national cyber-attack.
The Armed Forces support the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) on a daily basis in protecting the UK from malicious actors in cyberspace. The Regular and Reserves elements of the Ministry of Defence Cyber units operate routinely alongside the NCSC and other Government Departments, including joint exercises. We keep the requirement for military support to the NCSC, including in the event of a significant national cyber-attack, under continued review.
