Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, with reference to recommendation 3, page 90 of the National Food Strategy, published in July 2021, if she will make it her policy to fund a communications campaign to increase the uptake of Healthy Start vouchers amongst eligible families; and if she will make a statement.

The NHS Business Services Authority promotes the Healthy Start scheme through its digital channels and has created free tools to help stakeholders promote the scheme locally.

The latest Healthy Start uptake figures were published on 31 January 2023. In January 2023, over 362,000 beneficiaries were in receipt of NHS Healthy Start. Uptake of the fully digitised scheme is higher than the previous paper voucher scheme.
